Reviving Lives: The Hara Jeevan Initiative
When nature heals, humanity thrives. That’s the belief behind Hara Jeevan, a Delhi-based non-profit sowing seeds of hope, one tree at a time. Since 2015, this green movement has empowered communities, transformed barren spaces into lush landscapes, and educated thousands on the power of coexistence with nature.
Driven by a passionate team of professionals, students, and homemakers, Hara Jeevan is more than an NGO — it's a call to restore what’s been lost and to protect what’s still left.
🌿 Foundation & Background
Founded in 2015, Hara Jeevan was born from a deep-rooted desire to "give back" to Mother Earth. Headquartered in Delhi and supported by a core team of 30 members — including IITians, environmental scientists, and retired professors — the NGO has spent nearly a decade rekindling the bond between humans and the natural world.
With a mission to plant 10 million trees by 2040 and re-engineer 60% of local waste, the foundation is committed to bringing about measurable ecological change in both rural and urban landscapes.
🌱 Challenges & Struggles
The journey hasn't always been smooth. Securing land permissions, mobilizing communities, dealing with pollution, and ensuring tree survivability in hostile urban climates were early hurdles. Convincing people that "a planted tree is a life saved" took time and trust-building.
But with resilience, awareness campaigns, and grassroot involvement, Hara Jeevan slowly turned these challenges into stepping stones for real impact.
