Transforming Lives: The Mission of PSK Trust

True devotion is not in temples, but in the service of the hungry, homeless, and forgotten. Nestled in the serene embrace of the Himalayas, on the holy banks of river Bhagirathi in Rishikesh, PSK Trust has been quietly transforming lives since 1903 — through compassion, tradition, and relentless service.

Founded by Param Pujya Shri 108 Shri Harisingh Ji Maharaj, this trust was born from the pure intent to serve ascetics and scholars facing hunger and hardship. What started as a simple langar has now become a sacred legacy of selfless giving.

🌄 Foundation Rooted in Sewa & Spiritual Vision

In the Vikrami Samvat 1960 (AD 1903), Maharaj Ji established a modest langar for saints and sadhaks meditating along the ghats of Rishikesh. Moved by their struggle for food, he began this mission on a donated patch of land with the help of Brahmachari Shri Sajjananand Ji.

Today, this langar serves over 1,000 saints, widows, orphans, and differently-abled individuals across Rishikesh, Haridwar (Bhim Goda), Uttarkashi, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Ram Talai in Amritsar — every single morning, without fail.

🌪️ Through Struggles & Division: A Story of Resilience

The 1947 partition tested the trust’s endurance. Much of its property was lost in Pakistan, and key donors became refugees themselves. Financial conditions plummeted. But it was under the serene yet strong guidance of Param Pujya Shri 108 Shri Ramkrishna Ji Maharaj that the organization rose again — steadied by faith, driven by Sewa.

🏗️ Growth & Milestones Through the Decades

The PSK Trust didn’t just survive. It grew. In 1903, accommodation facilities for pilgrims began with the construction of rooms supported by generous donors. Today, the trust hosts over 10,000 pilgrims and tourists daily across its branches, with over 300 well-equipped rooms in Rishikesh alone.

Its institutions now include:

  • Government-recognized Adarsh Gaushala for cow welfare
  • Sanskrit Sadhu Mahavidyalaya affiliated with Sampurnanand Sanskrit University
  • A senior secondary inter college for modern education
  • Two charitable hospitals in Rishikesh and Haridwar
  • Own agricultural farm for growing fresh fodder
  • Temples and spiritual centers across all branches

🌟 Current Work & Lasting Impact

From humble meals to holistic healing, PSK Trust serves across multiple dimensions. Whether it’s a widow in need of warmth, a pilgrim seeking rest, or a cow needing care — the trust offers comfort with dignity. Its branches have become sanctuaries of service.

Daily services include:

  • Morning meals for saints and marginalized groups
  • Shelter and bedding for pilgrims in clean, airy rooms
  • Free medical services for the poor and ill
  • Educational upliftment through modern and Vedic learning
  • Spiritual enrichment through temples and satsangs

🌱 The Vision for Tomorrow

The PSK Trust dreams of a future where no stomach goes hungry and no soul feels abandoned. Plans include expanding accommodation, digitizing educational support, increasing medical outreach, and restoring ancient dharmshalas to serve even more communities with care and continuity.

🙏 Conclusion: In the Service of the Divine

PSK Trust proves that service to humanity is the highest form of worship. When food becomes devotion, shelter becomes sanctuary, and education becomes enlightenment — transformation begins. Through every grain served and every soul sheltered, PSK Trust lights up lives — not for recognition, but for righteousness.

“We are not here to be seen. We are here to serve. And in that sewa, we find the divine.” — A PSK Trust Volunteer
